Looking down on the project site. The river is flowing through the new route through the San Clemente Creek Drainage on the right and over the dam in the left of the photo. The soil area (above the water pools) is the area where the soil and rocks from the dredging of the dam and the excavation of the mountain was placed..engineered into a new "mountain". This is where the Carmel River used to flow. Next year, there will be no dam here and no water being held back as you see here. Thank you to Bill McGowan for continued access to the project site to do these paintings. Thank you to David Hamblin of Granite Construction for taking me onsite to work on this painting ...and checking out locations for painting the Old Chinese dam next week...

This is a brilliant project! It is fascinating to see this painting emerge, and I look forward to following the change in the landscape in your future paintings of the site.
